One Foot Planted in the Dust of the Soul, John Wright Follette

Growth. The process is often not what we expect. It helps to smile at our dustiness.

John Wright Follette expresses this masterfully in, Fruit of the Land:

“. . . at times it is quite overwhelming for a soul tabernacling in a house of dust. A bit of truth like that was too overwhelming for my dust. God said, ‘Remember you are made of dust.’ I said, Thank You.’ He said, ‘Remember that you are made of dust; and since you are made of dust I will reveal Myself to you in a form to suit your need as dust. I am you Heavenly Father. I said, ‘Thank You. Now my dust  feels better.’

I am going to make a confession. I am very human. I want to be human and at the same time I want to be spiritually minded. I think there is a unique combination in there somewhere for all of us. If we are patient God will strike a balance. Don’t get scared to death when He begins the operation. Be patient!”

As a dear friend, Mick Silva, says, “To wait with the inspiration long enough before going out, this was what every artist needed in spite of themselves, to know how much they could hold. For no artist, even him, had any idea just how much they could hold. Until they were trained.”  From, “Monday Motivations, September, 24, 2012” at http://www.yourwritersgroup.com/

How much can your dust-made vessel hold?
